Collaboration between leaders in end-to-end meeting management and document accessibility strives to help organizations ensure compliance and reduce risk

June 19, 2019 – Markham, Ontario and Copenhagen, Denmark: eScribe Software Ltd., a leading provider of cloud-based meeting management solutions, and AbleDocs Inc. – worldwide experts in enabling and ensuring accessible content – are partnering to improve the digital accessibility of public sector board and council meetings. New integration between the two companies’ tools and platforms will enable seamless accessibility checking and remediation within meeting management workflows, thus helping customers reduce their public-perception and compliance risk exposure by ensuring their meeting materials conform to the latest accessibility requirements.

eScribe’s comprehensive, paperless meeting management solution goes beyond just agenda and minute management, supporting each step of the meeting lifecycle with efficient tools and workflows that save time, lower costs, and increase stakeholder engagement. While the eScribe platform has earned a strong reputation for producing fully accessibility-compliant content including agendas, minutes, reports and legislation, the end-to-end meeting lifecycle often also includes documents from outside sources.

AbleDocs offers a flexible array of document accessibility solutions that make compliance straightforward, secure, and cost-effective. Building on the proven technology behind AbleDocs’ AD Gateway, AD Stream and AD Scan services, the joint eScribe and AbleDocs solution will further validate the accessibility of eScribe-published content while also checking external documents as users bring them into the meeting process. The unique combined offering will also easily facilitate the remediation of any non-compliant content.

“Recent high-profile, ADA-related lawsuits have brought the legal risks of non-compliance with accessibility standards to the forefront, but organizations also run the risk of negative press and unhappy constituents,” said Robert Treumann, President and CEO of eScribe. “While we control eScribe-generated materials, meetings can bring together content from many internal and external sources – making it difficult to ensure that all of it is accessible. Integrating AbleDocs’ technology and expertise with our platform will allow meeting administrators to check and even remediate documents directly within their workflow, raising the bar for meeting accessibility even higher.”

“At AbleDocs we are passionate about document accessibility and remediation, and we approach the problem holistically with market-leading people, processes and technology,” said Adam Spencer, President (Global) of AbleDocs. “We believe all web content should be available for everyone, and we’re excited to partner with like-minded eScribe to apply this commitment to public sector meetings. eScribe’s customers will benefit from our best-in-class accessibility tools and rich expertise, while our public sector clients will be able to improve the efficiency and transparency of all of their meeting-related processes with the eScribe platform.”

The integration between the eScribe platform and AbleDocs’ tools is expected to be available in the third quarter of 2019. A high-level preview demonstration of the new integration will be unveiled in eScribe’s booth (number 110) at the Florida Association of City Clerks (FACC) 2019 Annual Summer Conference, taking place June 23 to 26 in St. Augustine, Florida.
