What is Governance?

Governance refers to the processes and frameworks through which authority is exercised, decisions are made, and actions are taken to manage the affairs of an organization, community, or political entity.   In the context of a city council meeting, city council members are responsible for developing and adopting policies that govern various aspects of city life, such as land use, zoning, public safety, transportation, and social services.
